Mozzarella Sticks

Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsps. Water
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 3 tbsps. Cornstarch
  • 1 bar mozzarella, sliced into 2 inch sticks
  • Oil for frying

For Italian Bread Crumbs:
  • 1 cup Good Life Breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp dried parsley
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder

Procedure:

For Italian Bread Crumbs:
  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl or put in a food processor. Blend well. Store in an airtight container.

For Mozzarella Sticks:
  1. Prepare 3 small bowls.
  2. First bowl, combine flour and cornstarch and mix well.
  3. Second bowl, beat together egg and water.
  4. Third bowl, the Italian breadcrumbs.
  5. In a heavy saucepan or deep fryer, heat oil.
  6. Coat mozzarella sticks one at a time on the flour mixture then onto the egg mixture then lastly onto the breadcrumbs then deep fry until golden brown, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels. Makes 16 sticks.
