Javier, more popularly known as Aling Tentay, accidentally discovered that she can make fish sauce (patis) and paste (bagoong) from the abundant fish hauls of Navotas by storing salted fish in jars. Confident of her delicious spaces and being the enterprising housewife that she is, she started selling her sauces to her neighbors and friends.
